At Nyack High School, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that meets the diverse needs of all our students. Our dedicated faculty and staff work tirelessly to create a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters a love of learning.

Historians believe the word "Nyack" or "Niac" was the Indian word meaning "fishing place." An old deed dated 1794 spells the name "Niack," and later a "y" was substituted for the "i"—and the name since has been Nyack.

Item Description. This classical brick building was opened in 1928 and was the high school for the Nyack and Valley Cottage communities until the 1980s. The tower still stands as one of the community landmarks easily seen from the Hudson River.
