Lillian is cycling to raise funds for cancer research
Thank you all for your past support. This year will be my 3rd year participating in a ride to raise funds for cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I will be riding on March 11, 2017. I’ve worked as a Radiation Therapist at MSK for 26 years. Prior to that, I received my training at MSK for 2 years. I’ve seen many strange cancers come through our doors. I’ve treated every possible body part with many innovative approaches.
As a result of more than 130 years of experience and research at MSKCC, we have come to understand that cancer isn’t a single disease– it’s hundreds. Even cancers that appear to be similar may respond to different therapies and have different outcomes. Rare cancers can be defined as i.e. fewer than 15 cases per 100,000 per year. Yet, rare cancers account for 25% of all adult tumors. Twenty-five percent of these cancers have not been studied in depth! We’ve lost many friends and judoka to cancer over the past few years. Most of these cancers were classified as rare and/or aggressive. I am joining the fight to search for better weapons to combat these cancers.
Please consider donating any amount, small or large, to support me in this fight. Please go to www.CycleForSurvival.org and type in my name, Lillian Tom, in their search engine to donate to me and my team.
For those of you who are hesitant to donate directly online with a credit card, here’s another option: Please make checks payable to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or MSKCC and include my name (Lillian Tom) in the memo line. Mail the check to:
Cycle For Survival/ Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
PO Box 27432
New York, NY 10087-7432
I thank you, in advance, for your support and kindness. 100% of the money I raise dgoes directly to research and is 100% tax-deductible. A receipt is issued for your tax purposes when you make the donation, whether on-line or by check.
